Bio24 Table-to-farm Preview at SWITCH 2019
Today, TRIA showcased a preview of the Bio24 program alongside REAL IMPACT, at Singapore Week of Innovation and TeCHnology (SWITCH). We illustrated how we are able to achieve a “table-to-farm solution” by turning post-consumption waste from restaurants, inclusive of disposable dining foodware and food waste, into nutrient-rich compost within 24 hours in our digestors. No segregation needed ;).
A cross-industry panel was held to discuss how the food service industry can take progressive steps towards zero waste. Invited speakers to the event comprise of Mr Ted Tan, Deputy CEO at Enterprise Singapore, Dr Sandeep Kumar, Co-founder Real Impact, Mr Andrew Chan, Managing Director of Soup Spoon and Mr Emmanual Tay of WMRAS,
SWITCH is the foremost global platform for deep tech ecosystems – where innovators, investors and collaborators connect.

Temasek Poly ACI-ASConference 2019
On Friday, Centre for Urban Sustainability (CUS) of Temasek Polytechnic’s School of Applied Science (ASC) and the American Concrete Institute-Singapore Chapter (ACI-SC) jointly organised a conference with the theme “Sustainability for a Better Tomorrow” where TRIA took part in and also played a practical role in composting the foodware and foodwaste.
The event gathered local and overseas technical experts to discuss development of urban solutions and sustainability to design and build environmentally sustainable and liveable cities; research, innovation and technology to optimize liveable space and built environment to lower energy consumption and carbon footprint; and promoting innovation, sustainability and productivity in concrete technology and applications.
Very pleased to do our part in this conference both in contributing our knowledge and experience while actually practicing what we preach in composting the foodware and foodwaste.
Enterprise Singapore’s visit to TRIA’s Bio24 Digester
TRIA was honoured to host Deputy CEO of Enterprise Singapore, Mr Ted Tan and his delegation to our foodware and food waste Bio24 digestor site. Thankful to be able to contribute to our environment in the area of sustainability and also we appreciate Enterprise Singapore’s interest in us.
Our Bio24 digestor is unique in such a way that it provides a zero waste closed-loop solution which goes from farm to table and back to farm again. We not only “digest” food waste but also do the same to single-use foodware (disposable plates, straws, cutlery… etc) which has become such a huge part of daily lives. Our proprietary digestor takes 24 hours to turn foodware and food waste into fertilizer. We hope that this will be the first step in eliminating plastic based foodware entirely from our ecosystem.
Enterprise Singapore is the government agency championing enterprise development in Singapore. They work with committed companies to build capabilities, innovate and internationalise. As the national standards and accreditation body, they build trust in Singapore’s products and services through quality and standards.

F1 Compostable Packaging
It was our honour to be part of F1 this last weekend! We designed and supplied plastic-free, compostable foodware for the race refreshments at Turn 3 Lounge! The foodware and food waste is in our digestor at this very moment, we may not be as fast as the F1 cars but 24 hours to turn this into fertilizer is not bad at all, don’t you think? Doing our part for the environment one step at a time, while our lifestyle remains unchanged.
Sharing at Deliveroo Foodie-preneur Competition
Deliveroo, one of ESG’s collaboration partners – was running a Foodiepreneur competition. The competition is Deliveroo’s way of soliciting innovative ideas and encouraging aspiring food business owners to think out of the box. On ESG’s front, they are working with partners to educate the aspiring entrepreneurs on how to “start right” and also on key areas such as packaging and food sustainability.
Hence the invitation for a 30-min sharing on the importance of sustainable packaging and how modern innovative designed packaging can enhance consumer experience based on our past award winning designs. Grateful to be recognised by ESG and to pay it forward to helping fellow entrepreneurs and our environment!
